Explore the rugged beauty of Waipori Gorge, the tranquility broken only by the songs of Bellbirds ,Tuis, Rosellas and Fantails.Climbing out of the gorge the awesome scenery changes to forestry and open tussock, we pass Lake Mahinerangi,where the old town of Waipori was drowned in the hydro-lake, gold workings from the 1860's, and continue on to Gabriels Gully, the site of the first major gold find in Otago. Lunch is on the agenda before we board the Beaumont Jet where a skilled operator takes you on an unforgettable ride on the mighty Clutha river . Subject to weather and river conditions the operation of this service is at the discretion of the Beaumont Jet. Tours leave from Dunedin city or Cruise ship by arrangement.
